OUR MISSION

The Vietnamese Association of Charlotte (Cộng đồng) is a nonprofit that is committed to bettering the lives of the 18,000+ Vietnamese Americans living in the Charlotte metropolitan area through community service and cultural programs.

Established in 1993, Cộng đồng actively engages with the greater Charlotte community to promote cultural awareness and appreciation, and provides social and educational services to facilitate Vietnamese immigrants' assimilation into the American culture.

OUR PILLARS

Our Vietnamese culture is rich in traditions, arts, cuisine, and language, and preserving and celebrating this cultural heritage is important to us. To promote a stronger connection to their roots and encourage sharing of their heritage with others, VAC organizes cultural events and programs for all ages, such as Tet/Lunar New Year and the Miss/Mister Vietnam of the Carolinas Cultural Pageants.
The Vietnamese community is known for their remarkable resilience in tough times. VAC strives to help Vietnamese-American people adapt and thrive in new environments by hosting educational workshops and sharing growth opportunities.
VAC is committed to creating a safe and reliable space for people to engage with the Vietnamese culture, regardless of location.

Established in 1993, the Vietnamese Association proudly hosts the Miss Vietnam of the Carolinas pageant. Our program is an educational process that provides our Vietnamese-American women an opportunity to embrace our rich culture, build confidence to excel in life and discover their inner beauty. An experience that creates a sisterhood where friendships blossom and true beauty unfolds.
Established in 2017, the Vietnamese Association proudly hosts the Mister Vietnam of the Carolinas showcase. Our program is an educational process that provides our Vietnamese-American men an opportunity to embrace our rich culture, build confidence to excel in life and discover their inner charm. An experience that creates a brotherhood where friendships grow and memories are made.
Established in 2015, the Vietnamese Association of Charlotte proudly hosts the Little Miss Vietnam of the Carolinas showcase. Our program is an educational process that provides our Vietnamese-American youth an opportunity to learn about our rich culture.
