This year, our theme is “Bị Thương.” “Thương” translates to love, by simply adding the word “Bị” changes its entire meaning to be injured.
Our show’s storyline will represent how oftentimes, our parents may showcase their love by pushing and comparing us to our peers, setting an indebted pressure of satisfying their high expectations. Albeit in our best interest, this love can hurt us. As an English translation, we decided to use “Wounded Love” because it shows the flaws and duality of how love can be interpreted.
Come with your family and friends for a night you won’t regret!

Hero “영웅” Movie Screening hosted by Charlotte Korean Association
<What is the meaning of INDEPENDENCE>
It means you live as the master of your own life. You decide what to do and you are responsible for the result. Just like an individual decides the direction of their life on their own terms, the fate of a nation should be decided by the people. Even if a country is small, its right should be respected.
We live in America as the members of a minority ethnic community. Our community should be respected and each one of us, younger or older, Korean-speaking or English-speaking, should be able to live as the master of one's own life and the community.
This movie tells the story of the hero who fought for independence from imperialism. This story will hopefully inspire the young generation of Korean Americans, but also inform our community friends of Korean history.
Free tickets are available by request at Charlotte.Korean.net. The movie will have English subtitles.
